Basic map demonstrating cartographic prinicples
Research project on forest fragmentation in protected areas of Mexico. This poster was presented in a research symposium. Data utilized was vector land use data which we converted to raster to use in a specific fragmentation program.
This poster was created to demonstrate the initial data preparation and first results of the research project.

Identifying high species density. (class project)

Spatial relationships of high density areas. (class project)
Flow chart describing the steps taken in a suitability analysis to locate optimal harvest areas based on three parameters. Concepts and processes used include reclassification, grouping/clustering, Boolean overlays, overlays with priority cells and sensitivity analysis. (class project)
I also created the model in ArcGIS ModelBuilder enabling the user to change the parameter of distance from water and test the various outcomes.
Results of the harvest area suitability analysis and three different parameters for distance from water bodies. (class project)
My first GIS project. Used Digital Elevation Model data to delineate runoff flow direction, flow accumulation, water basins and watersheds. The DEM that was used was 30 meter resolution. Using a 10 meter resolution DEM would yield more accurate results but this high resolution data is not always available in remote parts of the world.
